Barack Obama

          "Obama was the 44th president of the United States. He was the first African American president in U.S. History. He was born on August 4, 1961 in Hawaii. Before pursuing political career, Obama was a Civil-Rights lawyer and teacher. Now, he is on his second term of presidency. While living with his grandparents, Obama enrolled in the esteemed Punahou Academy, excelling in basketball and graduating with academic honors in 1979. Barack Obama went to Harvard School. In his first term, the President passed the landmark Affordable Care Act, helping to put quality health care within reach for more Americans. He ended war in Iraq and is working to responsibly end the war in Afghanistan, passed historic Wall Street Reform to make sure taxpayers never again have to bail out big banks, and Cut taxes for every American worker. He’s fought for equal rights and a women's right to make their own health decisions. And he’s made a college education more affordable for millions of students and their families."

Sonia Sotomayor

           "Sonia Sotomayor is an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court . She was the first nominee to the Supreme Court of U.S.A. by President Barack Obama.President Barack Obama nominated Sotomayor to the Supreme Court of The U.S.A. Judge Sotomayor was confirmed by the United States Senate on August 6, 2009 through a majority of vote. Sotomayor he third woman to serve on the Supreme Court and one of three female Justices. Sotomayor was also the first Hispanic justice in the Supreme Court. The Senate Judiciary Committee voted in favor of her confirmation." Sonia Sotomayor was born on June 25, 1954. As of now Ms. Sotomayor is questioning Gay Marriage. she is critical of barring gay and lesbian couples from marrying.

1989
     Berlin Wall fell which was the sign of the end of the Cold War.
1990
     Iraq invades Kuwait and East and West were united which also was a sign of the end of the Cold.War.
1991
     Persian Gulf War started. Gorbachev resigned as the Soviet president. Soviet Union was destroyed.
1992
     William Jefferson Clinton won the presidential election of 1992 against Bush. He was the first "Baby Boom" president.
 1993
     NAFTA(North American Free Trade Agreement) was formed. It allowed U.S. to trade with Canada and Mexico.
1996
     Clinton became the first democratic president that was elected for second term since Franklin Delano Roosevelt.
1998
     Clinton was impeached by the congress because of the Clinton- Lewinsky scandal. U.S. military stroke Iraq.
1999
     Clinton was acquitted on his impeachment charges. NATO warfare against WTO (World Trade Organization)
2000
     George W. Bush wins the 2000 Presidential Elections. He won electoral votes while Gore won the popular votes. 
2001
     During September 11th of 2001, terrorists attacked the Twin Towers at World Trade Center in New York and the White House in Washington D.C. U.S. invaded Afghanistan. USA Patriot Act of 2001 was passed.
2002
     Bush said that the countries Iraq, North Korea, and Iran are Axis of Evil. WorldCom announced its bankruptcy.
2003
     U.S. invaded Iraq. Sadam Hussein was captured. Arnold Schwarzeneger became California's governor.
2004
     George W. Bush defeated John Kerry at the 2004 presidential elections.
2005
     Hurricane Katrina destroyed New Orleans.
2007
     First female speaker of the U.S. House of Representative was sworn in office. She was Nancy Pelosi.
2008
     Recession happened. Obama was Elected.
2009
     Obama took an oath that marked the start of his presidency. He was the first African- American president of the United States. H1N1 virus (Swine Flu) was a global threat.
2010
     Oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico occurred by the British Petroleum (BP). It was the largest oil spill in United Stated history.
2011
     Osama Bin Laden was killed after the United States searched him for years.
2012
     Obama won the presidential elections against Mitt Romney.
